I’m going through a transformation
I don’t know what’s on the other side.
I can’t stay here though
Here lives too much pain.
The residue of bad decisions from the residue of bad experiences.
They hurt me, they did
And though hurt’s been my home for so long
I’ve got to get outta here.
On to where I wanna be
The unknown, and yet I know I don’t wanna be here anymore.
Love never lived here
Only sadness here, veiled by love
Because I always loved.
Loved and loved until it almost made me hate myself.
Gotta date myself
Let God restore me.
Place me in His cocoon
A hard shell
So that I can be transformed.
My name is Kerrie Jones. The smile you see today wasn’t always present; as a young woman I made decisions in pursuit of happiness that resulted in anything but happiness. I didn’t know me. I didn’t know what was driving my decisions. I was stuck in a cycle of pain that I was not able to see my way out of. Eventually, the pain awakened me to my own discomfort and to a desire for better. When I decided to change, I looked at the lessons prescribed by my pain, and used them as the foundation for my healing. I found purpose in that pain, and as I healed, I embarked upon a journey to help others by becoming a therapist. I did it for me first, then for you. Today, I know happiness and I am living with purpose and intention; and I want the same for you. I want you to have the relationship with yourself you never knew was possible. Like me, you can have the life that you want; it takes work to get there, and it would be my pleasure to join you on your journey to the other side.
Individual therapy is the space for you and I to meet where we can use your present day-to-day experiences to process and resolve events from your past to enable you to live with greater intention.
Our vulnerabilities are greatest in romantic relationships; discomfort with it often results in unintended strife between lovers. In couples therapy I work with you to expand your tolerance for vulnerability to allow each of you to refocus on nurturing the relationship.
There is power in belonging to a community of people with whom we share experiences. The collective understanding that exists among those who have walked similarly difficult paths creates space for healing that may be elusive in individual settings. At times we can go further, faster with the support of others.
